{"id":1171,"date":"2023-01-31T14:47:27","date_gmt":"2023-01-31T19:47:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=1171"},"modified":"2023-01-31T14:47:27","modified_gmt":"2023-01-31T19:47:27","slug":"michigan-state-football-jayden-reed-standing-out-at-reeses-senior-bowl-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=1171","title":{"rendered":"Michigan State football: Jayden Reed standing out at Reese&#8217;s Senior Bowl practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>To no one&#8217;s surprise, Michigan State football star Jayden Reed is standing out at Reese&#8217;s Senior Bowl practice.<\/h2>\n<p>Despite a slightly disappointing senior season with was plagued with injury, <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-football-final-junior-day-of-january-yields-big-turnout\/\">Michigan State football<\/a> star wideout Jayden Reed is showing why he was considered one of the best receivers in the country before the season.<\/p>\n<p>Reed was invited to the Reese&#8217;s Senior Bowl this year after catching 55 passes for 636 yards and five touchdowns. Don&#8217;t let those numbers fool you, though. Reed is elite.<\/p>\n<p>And he&#8217;s proving that on day one of Senior Bowl practice on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously there are scouts in attendance and if they&#8217;re putting stock into what they&#8217;ve seen from Reed so far, he has improved his draft position tremendously.<\/p>\n<p>Reed is absolutely cooking defenders in practice.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the first huge win for Reed on the day against what looks to be an Iowa defensive back.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jayden Reed <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jU63Bwe6q2\">pic.twitter.com\/jU63Bwe6q2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Billy M (@BillyM_91) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillyM_91\/status\/1620490671315640320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 31, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>That footwork is magical and the defender was on skates immediately. A great, simple route.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus Mosher, a Pro Football Focus writer, had glowing reviews for Reed on the day for the national team&#8217;s practice. Out of high school, he was just a low three-star recruit and committed to Western Michigan with no other major offers. He then was a Freshman All-American with the Broncos and transferred to Michigan State. After a slow start to his MSU career, he broke out in 2021 and became one of the best receivers in the nation. And then in 2022, he took a step back and was never really himself and everyone began to doubt him again.<\/p>\n<p>Reed is thriving off the doubt, as you can see.<\/p>\n<p>You can watch him at the Reese&#8217;s Senior Bowl on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on the NFL Network.
