Rosters are so small and everyone is so talented that it\u2019s become a rare occurrence in the NBA. That wasn\u2019t the case on Saturday night. Former Michigan State star <a href=\"https:\/\/msuspartans.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/max-christie\/11554\">Max Christie<\/a> of the Los Angeles Lakers took on <a href=\"https:\/\/msuspartans.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/draymond-green\/600\">Draymond Green<\/a> and the Golden State Warriors.<\/p>\n<p>Max and Draymond don\u2019t have much history between them, mainly considering how far apart their tenures are from each other in East Lansing, but we all know the special culture that exists at Michigan State so I\u2019m sure they\u2019ve both gotten to know each other pretty well.<\/p>\n<p>Draymond had the far better game in the Lakers&#8217; 145-144 double-overtime win. Green flirted with a triple-double, finishing with eight points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. But it was Christie who had the highlight play of the night.<\/p>\n<h3>Max Christie dunks on Draymond Green<\/h3>\n<p>Midway through the first quarter, a rolling Christie got the pass from LeBron James after setting a screen for him. He caught the ball and immediately went up for the slam where Draymond was waiting for him. But what a way to score your only two points of the game.<\/p>\n<h3>Season update<\/h3>\n<p>Christie has been having an average season so far but he&#8217;s gotten six starts for the Lakers. He is averaging 4.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. And as you\u2019d probably guess, Draymond is having a much better year. As a regular starter for the Warriors, Draymond is averaging 9.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. Draymond may not score as much as he used to, but he is still the same all-around player he\u2019s always been.<\/p>\n<p>Both the Lakers and Warriors have some work to do for the rest of their season. The Lakers are 10th in the Western Conference standings and the Warriors are 12th.
