A lot went wrong in this game for MSU, but at least one good thing happened.<\/p>\n<p>Tyson Walker had another solid game for MSU, finishing with 20 points, three rebounds, and two assists. During his time in East Lansing, he accumulated 33 straight games scoring in double figures. But it\u2019s time for Lucas to step aside as Tyson Walker now holds this record.<\/p>\n<p>After scoring 20 points against Minnesota, Tyson now has 34 straight games finishing in double figures. It\u2019s no secret that Walker is one of the best scorers in Michigan State history, but this accomplishment takes him to the next level.<\/p>\n<p>The Spartans have had many elite scorers come through East Lansing, but none have been more consistent than Walker. This record shows how reliable he is because even his off nights aren\u2019t that bad. Most players are happy if they hit double figures in any one game, but that\u2019s just the norm with Walker. So for him to have 34 straight double-digit scoring games speaks to how consistent he is night in and night out.<\/p>\n<h3>How long can Tyson keep this up?<\/h3>\n<p>This question is the only thing left to ask, and I think the answer is quite simple. Walker will continue this streak until the MSU basketball season is over.<\/p>\n<p>To add a little perspective, the last time Walker didn\u2019t finish in double digits was last season on Jan. 29 against Purdue. He finished with nine points in that game, so he honestly could have had the record before this game.<\/p>\n<p>But I honestly don\u2019t see this streak ending for him any time soon. The Spartans have eight regular season games left and I think Walker will hit double figures in each game. Add in a minimum of one Big Ten Tournament game and one NCAA Tournament game and that takes his streak to 44. So 44 is the bare minimum I think this streak will get to, but the more games the Spartans play in the postseason, the higher this streak will get.<\/p>\n<p>Walker is also chasing <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/tyson-walker-is-on-pace-feat-first-time-since-1995\/\">another program record this season as well<\/a>. No Spartan has finished a season averaging 20-plus points per game since Shawn Respert in 1995. Walker\u2019s now averaging 18.9 points per game this season, but there\u2019s still plenty of time to reach 20.<\/p>\n<p>Walker&#8217;s next chance to add to this streak is on Saturday as No. 10 Illinois comes to the Breslin Center.
