Tom Izzo spoke to the media this week about Tyson Walker’s groin and he sounded like he’s been concerned about it.<\/h2>\n

Tyson Walker has been dealing with a groin injury<\/a> for quite some time now, per Tom Izzo. However, he hasn\u2019t missed any playing time other than a couple of minutes during the road game at Minnesota.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s just who Tyson Walker is. I\u2019d argue that he is the toughest player on this Michigan State team. That\u2019s why you\u2019ll never hear Walker complain about his injury and why he\u2019s dodged the question every time he is asked about his health.<\/p>\n

But Izzo shared some growing concern for Tyson\u2019s health on Wednesday as the season comes to a close.<\/p>\n

Tom Izzo shares concern for Walker\u2019s health<\/h3>\n

After practice on Wednesday, Tom Izzo shared this with the media<\/a> about his star guard\u2019s groin injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time he (Tyson) goes down, he’s grabbing his groin.\u201d Izzo continued, \u201cThere’s nothing I can do about it, so I just listen to the trainer and listen to him \u2014 can you play or not play? It’s definitely been somewhat of an issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is not what you want to hear about Michigan State\u2019s star player as we now head into March. This increase in Izzo\u2019s concern for his health also comes at a time when Tyson has struggled statistically.<\/p>\n

Walker has only scored 20 points once in his last 10 games. I know 20 points is a high standard in college basketball, but we all know Walker is more than capable of regularly hitting this mark. Walker also has only shot above 50 percent in these 10 games once as well. So his lack of scoring isn\u2019t due to a lack of opportunity, it\u2019s due to a lack of efficiency.<\/p>\n

Thankfully for Walker and Michigan State, the Spartans will have a good amount of time off in the coming days. MSU just had six days between the Ohio State loss<\/a> and the Purdue game this weekend, so hopefully he will get a little healthier this week.<\/p>\n

There also is a decent amount of time off after their final regular season game and the Big Ten Tournament as well as before the NCAA Tournament begins. All this extra rest should hopefully help Walker improve his health.<\/p>\n

The Spartans will need Walker at 100 percent because this team tends to struggle without him. So hopefully this week off helped him and we\u2019ll see him back to his normal self against Purdue on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
