The Spartans have lost three straight games now, and even though they held up pretty well at Purdue, a loss is still never good enough. <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/tom-izzo-comments-speaks-on-aj-hoggard-mady-sissoko-using-covid-years\/\">Tom Izzo<\/a> addressed his team\u2019s struggles in his press conference on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>And in typical Izzo fashion, he is not passing the blame on anyone else.<\/p>\n<h3>Tom Izzo takes the blame for the team\u2019s recent struggles<\/h3>\n<p>During his press conference on Monday, Izzo had this to share about his team\u2019s recent struggles.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Izzo: &quot;I have to take responsibility if my team doesn&#39;t play as good as they can play. And I have. I don&#39;t hide behind that elephant. He knows it\u2019s not right to blame his players, so he typically avoids doing that. However, he previously may have <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/did-tom-izzo-indirectly-blame-players-for-loss-to-ohio-state\/\">indirectly blamed his players for the Ohio State loss<\/a>. So it\u2019s definitely a good thing that he\u2019s making it very clear that he\u2019s only blaming himself.<\/p>\n<p>The second half of this quote though is what I like the most. When Izzo said \u201cAnd that is a big, big white elephant because there&#8217;s 600,000 small elephants kind of putting it to me and I really wouldn&#8217;t want it any other way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Izzo knows Spartan Nation has been very vocal about their displeasure this season, but he doesn\u2019t seem to mind that. I know I\u2019ve probably been one of the most vocal this season about his coaching decisions, <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-basketball-tom-izzo-needs-to-pass-the-torch-to-xavier-booker\/\">especially as it pertains to Xavier Booker<\/a>, but I\u2019m glad Izzo doesn\u2019t care about any outside noise. And why should he? He is a Hall of Fame coach, so it\u2019d be insane for him to listen to someone like me.<\/p>\n<p>The Spartans have a chance to get their season back on track Wednesday as they take on Northwestern.
