Earls, who&#8217;s from Chester, Va., is one of the best corners in the country. According to On3, he is the No. 62 player in the country and the No. 8 cornerback. Not only is he a great talent on the football field, but he\u2019s also an elite track and field athlete.<\/p>\n<p>Earls was a state qualifier in both the 100 and 200-meter dash, showing he is an elite all-around athlete. You can\u2019t teach speed, and his speed is one of the many reasons Earls is ranked so highly.<\/p>\n<h3>Recruiting competition<\/h3>\n<p>Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, Texas A&amp;M, Duke, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and Maryland join the Spartans in Earls\u2019 top 10. You might have a couple of guesses about who the leader in his recruitment is based on this list, but you\u2019d probably be wrong like I was.<\/p>\n<p>Earls has one crystal ball prediction on 247Sports to South Carolina. This prediction is very new as well, coming in on March 15. So this is a very telling sign that South Carolina is at the top of his list.<\/p>\n<p>Duke and Virginia are two other teams to keep an eye on as they are \u201cwarm\u201d along with the Gamecocks according to 247Sports.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Smith has been a very solid recruiter so far, so as long as MSU is in a player&#8217;s top schools list, I\u2019ll have a little confidence. The next step is to get Earls to East Lansing on an official visit.
