{"id":16639,"date":"2024-03-20T15:24:26","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T19:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=16639"},"modified":"2024-03-20T15:24:26","modified_gmt":"2024-03-20T19:24:26","slug":"carson-cooper-sports-a-new-look-after-injury-during-purdue-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=16639","title":{"rendered":"Carson Cooper sports a new look after injury during Purdue game"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Carson Cooper suffered a face injury against Purdue and now he&#8217;s sporting an interesting new look for the NCAA Tournament.<\/h2>\n<p>During Michigan State\u2019s Big Ten tournament <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-basketball-what-went-wrong-in-loss-to-purdue\/\">quarterfinal loss to Purdue<\/a>, Carson Cooper took a nasty hit fighting for a rebound. He took an inadvertent elbow to the nose and went down hard. Play continued, but when the camera panned back to Cooper he (and the court) was covered in blood.<\/p>\n<p>In true Spartan fashion, Cooper did not miss any significant time once they got the bleeding to stop. Fast forward to Wednesday during MSU\u2019s open practice ahead of their opening NCAA Tournament game, and Cooper is sporting a new look.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Carson Cooper sporting a new mask. MSU sophomore got a bloody nose vs. Purdue but said it\u2019s not conclusive if he broke it. Sometimes guys look pretty ridiculous wearing a mask, but I think he can pull it off.<\/p>\n<p>All joking aside, it\u2019s a relief to hear that this isn\u2019t a serious injury. It\u2019s unknown at this point if his nose is broken or not, but that isn\u2019t stopping him from being a full go for the NCAA Tournament. Broken noses, while extremely painful at the time, usually aren\u2019t a long term injury concern, so whatever treatment he needs he should be able to get pretty quickly during the offseason.<\/p>\n<h3>Will masked Cooper go off in the tournament?<\/h3>\n<p>The NCAA tournament\u2019s always full of ridiculous storylines you can never predict, so maybe this will be the next one.
