Nobody can question that. But what people can question is the reason for that rough stretch. There are many reasons you can list that could be the cause for the past four years, but one thing that will never be on that list is a lack of effort from Tom Izzo.<\/p>\n<p>I truly believe Izzo is one of the hardest working coaches in America. And we have more proof of that as Izzo was out recruiting the day after their <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-basketball-3-takeaways-from-north-carolina-loss\/\">loss to North Carolina<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The next day after MSU lost to North Carolina, Izzo was in Ohio watching 2024 commit <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/jesse-mcculloch-46135471\/\">Jesse McCulloch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo spent most of halftime taking pictures with fans here in Dayton.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler is also in attendance today.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NEOSportsInside?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NEOSportsInside<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PoSLsBnChw\">pic.twitter.com\/PoSLsBnChw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NEO Zone HS Sports (@NEOZoneHS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NEOZoneHS\/status\/1771972582406795471?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 24, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>It would have been extremely easy for Izzo to take a few days off so he could get over the loss that ended the Spartans&#8217; season. But that\u2019s not what Izzo did, and that\u2019s not what he\u2019s ever done. He took the time to go down to Ohio to watch McCulloch play for a state championship.<\/p>\n<p>This wasn\u2019t like when Izzo <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-basketball-team-watches-priority-2025-recruit-win-state-title\/\">watched a 2025 recruit play for a state championship at the Breslin Center<\/a> right after MSU lost in the Big Ten Tournament. That time was obviously very easy for Izzo to recruit since the game was in East Lansing. This time Izzo had to go to a different state to watch his future player in action.<\/p>\n<p>Izzo has been doubted for a few years now regarding some personnel and roster construction decisions he\u2019s made. But nobody can ever question how badly he wants to win again. He even went as far as saying he will <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/tom-izzo-vows-to-make-michigan-state-basketball-elite-again-video\/\">make a deep run in the tournament again or \u201cdie trying.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Will Izzo adjust to the times and make some much needed changes this offseason? That\u2019s the question on everyone\u2019s minds. Many older coaches don\u2019t want to make the necessary changes to excel in the new college basketball landscape, but I don\u2019t get that feeling from Izzo.
