And yet he&#8217;s one of the hottest names in the sport.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Jesse Simonton of On3 posted a stock report of all the major transfer quarterbacks from spring ball and the Spartans&#8217; new QB1 is on the short list of &#8220;stock up&#8221; players. He showed flashes of being elite with Oregon State as a backup for DJ Uiagalelei but now he&#8217;s taking the reins of a Power Four offense.<\/p>\n<p>And after the spring he&#8217;s had, fans should feel comfortable with that.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been years since Michigan State last had a promising young quarterback like Chiles earning national recognition. After a strong first year as starter back in 2017, Brian Lewerke garnered a ton of hype heading into 2018. Injuries really kept him from growing in East Lansing, but that was the last time there was this much hype surrounding a Spartan passer.<\/p>\n<p>The sky is truly the limit for Chiles who possesses great size, speed, and a rocket for an arm. He has some solid backups who should push him to be even better which is what healthy quarterback rooms do.
