{"id":18486,"date":"2024-07-08T15:42:17","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T19:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=18486"},"modified":"2024-07-08T15:42:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T19:42:17","slug":"michigan-state-basketball-makes-the-cut-for-top-60-sf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=18486","title":{"rendered":"Michigan State basketball makes the cut for top-60 SF"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Michigan State basketball made the top three for one of the top small forwards in the 2025 class on Monday.<\/h2>\n<p>Tom Izzo and <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-basketball-could-jeremiah-fears-be-an-option\/\">Michigan State basketball<\/a> are in the middle of the offseason, but they haven&#8217;t stopped working.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the Hall of Fame head coach has been hard at work on the recruiting trail while his team has been participating in the annual Moneyball Pro-Am. His players have been getting better and showing off for fans while he&#8217;s been making sure he gets going on his 2025 class.<\/p>\n<p>Izzo has locked in a number of official visits, including ones from guys like Trey McKenney, Trent Sisley, and Jalen Haralson, while also making the top schools lists for other top targets, including Jordan Scott.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Scott posted his top three schools and Michigan State made the cut.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEWS: 2025 four-star SF Jordan Scott (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jordanscott267?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@jordanscott267<\/a>) is down to three schools, he tells <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/On3Recruits?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@On3Recruits<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The 6-5 rising senior has scheduled two official visits and discusses each of his finalists and timeframe for a decision: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7dec1xKNOo\">https:\/\/t.co\/7dec1xKNOo<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BkxuVsn5Ym\">pic.twitter.com\/BkxuVsn5Ym<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Joe Tipton (@TiptonEdits) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TiptonEdits\/status\/1810363873255473391?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 8, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Virginia Tech and Maryland also made the cut for the four-star small forward from Reston, Va., and he has an official visit planned to Michigan State on Sept. 8. He doesn&#8217;t have officials set up to either Maryland or Virginia Tech yet, but I&#8217;d expect those to be scheduled soon. Scott did have official visits set up to Florida State and Washington in the fall but it seems like those won&#8217;t happen after all.<\/p>\n<p>Scott is ranked the No. 51 overall recruit in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports. He&#8217;s also the ninth-best small forward in the class.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan State has been in heavy pursuit of the Virginia-based forward for a while now and it&#8217;s good to see that Izzo&#8217;s hard work is paying off. He&#8217;s now in a winnable top three for a 6-foot-7, 185-pound small forward who held some really strong offers.
