{"id":18520,"date":"2024-07-11T14:02:15","date_gmt":"2024-07-11T18:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=18520"},"modified":"2024-07-11T14:02:15","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T18:02:15","slug":"michigan-state-football-big-ten-media-day-representatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=18520","title":{"rendered":"Michigan State football announces Big Ten Media Day representatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Michigan State football announced who would be representing the team at Big Ten Media Day in a couple of weeks.<\/h2>\n<p>We are still a couple of weeks away from Big Ten Media Day and <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-football-top-2025-target-bryson-williams-getting-set-to-commit\/\">Michigan State football<\/a> has finally announced who will be representing this year&#8217;s team at the event in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n<p>The Spartans&#8217; Twitter account tweeted out that Jack Velling, Nate Carter, and Dillon Tatum would be at Lucas Oil Stadium on July 24.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">ready to talk Spartan Football \ud83c\udf99\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GFRxfb84tp\">pic.twitter.com\/GFRxfb84tp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Michigan State Football (@MSU_Football) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MSU_Football\/status\/1811436856191733853?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 11, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Honestly, these three choices couldn&#8217;t be any better as there&#8217;s a good mix of players. There&#8217;s a Spartan who has been with the program for a few years (Tatum), another who transferred in last season (Carter), and another who just joined the program this offseason (Velling). Each of them has a different perspective on what it means to be a Spartan and I feel like that&#8217;s why Jonathan Smith chose them.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, it would have been easy to send the quarterback, but it feels like Smith wanted to stick to upperclassmen.<\/p>\n<p>Tatum has been with Michigan State the longest and I&#8217;m sure he&#8217;ll be asked about the Michigan rivalry now that his former defensive backfield mate, Jaden Mangham, joined the bad guys. Carter has the potential to be a breakout star in the backfield but was plagued by a mediocre offensive line and a coaching change in 2023. And Velling is one of the best tight ends in the country and followed Smith over from Oregon State.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan State will be well-represented here by three strong personalities who all carry leadership qualities.<\/p>\n<p>There aren&#8217;t really any surprise choices although I&#8217;m a little surprised to see no Jordan Hall or maybe another veteran linebacker like Jordan Turner or Cal Haladay.
