Is Michigan State basketball<\/a> a blue blood or not? That’s the debate that seems to rage on every single year and the consensus opinion is that there is no consensus opinion.<\/p>\n

Michigan fans immediately shoot down the blue blood talk while Michigan State fans are usually supported most by national media members and former players. The Spartans are considered to be a basketball blue blood by a good chunk of the college hoops community, but don’t tell that to the fans in Ann Arbor.<\/p>\n

Either way, it’s one of those debates that may never be settled until Tom Izzo wins No. 2.<\/p>\n

But the good guys got another endorsement as a blue blood on Wednesday afternoon from an unlikely source: a former Duke player.<\/p>\n

Valley Suns player Cassius Stanley, Duke grad, referenced the connections across the NBA that he has thanks to Duke. Another school he mentioned w\/ connections is Michigan State, citing Suns owner Mat Ishbia. He also gave a nod to MSU, referring to them as a blue blood.<\/p>\n
