{"id":19936,"date":"2024-11-20T18:30:57","date_gmt":"2024-11-20T23:30:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=19936"},"modified":"2024-11-20T18:30:57","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T23:30:57","slug":"michigan-state-football-will-don-brand-new-uniform-combo-vs-purdue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=19936","title":{"rendered":"Michigan State football will don brand-new uniform combo vs. Purdue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the third time this season, <a href=\"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-football-key-plays-loss-illinois\/\">Michigan State football<\/a> will be playing on Friday night and for the first time, it&#8217;ll be featuring a new uniform combination that we haven&#8217;t seen together yet.<\/p>\n<p>The MSU football X account shared its threads for Friday night&#8217;s game against Purdue and they were surprising.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">fresh fit for Friday night <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XbbWPVpqth\">pic.twitter.com\/XbbWPVpqth<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Michigan State Football (@MSU_Football) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MSU_Football\/status\/1859372636104487035?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 20, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Obviously you expect something like the all-green look or green jerseys and white pants or some sort of combination like that, but it looks like the players and coaches are looking for a fresh start and that&#8217;s what this combo provides. For the first time ever, Michigan State will wear its green jersey, with black pants, and the black Thy Shadows helmet.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time fans will see this look after witnessing a plethora of new combinations over the years, starting with the all-white look with the white helmet that Brian Lewerke and Co. made famous back in 2017. We&#8217;ve also seen the neon pants era with the ugly &#8220;State&#8221; across the chest in neon green on the jerseys &#8212; those were, um, something. We&#8217;ve also seen a number of helmets from Gruff to the M.A.C. logo to the block &#8216;S&#8217; to Sparty holding an American flag. And the new jerseys revealed in 2023 were also a fresh new look.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s rare that we get a brand-new uniform combination because it feels like we&#8217;ve seen it all, but Jonathan Smith and his players must have voted on this one because it honestly looks pretty crisp.<\/p>\n<p>The green is dark enough with the black pants that it all kind of flows, in a way, and the black helmet is a nice touch.
