{"id":2945,"date":"2023-04-26T10:00:31","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T14:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=2945"},"modified":"2023-04-26T04:52:35","modified_gmt":"2023-04-26T08:52:35","slug":"michigan-state-basketball-extends-offer-no-3-recruit-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=2945","title":{"rendered":"Michigan State basketball extends offer to No. 3 recruit in 2025 class"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Tom Izzo and Michigan State basketball have extended a big-time offer to 2025 five-star power forward Koa Peat.<\/h2>\n<p>Whenever Tom Izzo extends a Michigan State basketball offer, it&#8217;s a big deal.<\/p>\n<p>The Hall of Fame head coach doesn&#8217;t just hand out scholarships to anyone, he usually does so when he feels a mutual interest and he&#8217;s scouted a prospect enough to love what he sees.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, he offered his seventh player in the 2025 recruiting class. His older brother, Cassius Peat, played football for Mark Dantonio and the Spartans. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/sports\/college\/michigan-state\/spartans\/2017\/06\/10\/cassius-peat-michigan-state-football\/386883001\/\">things ended on a sour note<\/a>. That shouldn&#8217;t play a negative factor here for his younger brother since these are two completely different sports and coaches. Peat seemed to like his time in East Lansing regardless of how things ended.<\/p>\n<p>The five-star power forward reigns from Gilbert, Ariz., and is the third-best power forward in the class. The 2025 class seems to be loaded at power forward because there are three topping the rankings on 247Sports.<\/p>\n<p>It feels like Izzo is going to prioritize Peat as he&#8217;s one of the most sought-after prospects in the class and he doesn&#8217;t just extend an offer to extend an offer. This isn&#8217;t football where it seems like every top recruit gets an offer from 30-40 schools. Basketball is more exclusive and Izzo doesn&#8217;t offer without a mutual feel.<\/p>\n<p>The Spartans&#8217; 2023 class is one of the best in the nation with two five-stars and two four-stars, the 2024 class is No. 5 currently after landing its second four-star last week, and it appears the 2025 cycle could also be special.<\/p>\n<p>Remember when people were saying that the game had passed Izzo by?
