And then he made a promise.<\/h2>\n<p>On Thursday afternoon, new <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-football-all-american-wr-picks-up-offer\/\">Michigan State football<\/a> defensive lineman <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/tunmise-adeleye-quickly-realizing-strength-of-michigan-state-fans\/\">Tunmise Adeleye tweeted<\/a> that he was at the O&#8217;Hare Airport in Chicago and was hearing &#8216;go green&#8217; left and right.<\/p>\n<p>This shocked no one because Chicago is Big Ten country and a ton of Michigan State alums relocate to the Windy City out of college. Plus, if you go anywhere and wear Michigan State gear, you&#8217;re likely to hear &#8220;go green&#8221; at least once.<\/p>\n<p>Adeleye found out just how strong and extensive the Michigan State fanbase is.<\/p>\n<p>And then he made a promise to all of them.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Promise we\u2019re going hard for y\u2019all this year ??<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Tunmise Adeleye ?? (@OTK4Ltunmise) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OTK4Ltunmise\/status\/1654215955671658498?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 4, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Adeleye promised that the team will be &#8220;going hard&#8221; for Spartan fans this year. He now becomes the second player to make a confident promise in the past week, following <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-football-tyrell-henry-vows-show-out-keon-coleman\/\">Tyrell Henry who vowed to show out<\/a> with Keon Coleman gone.<\/p>\n<p>You have to love that type of confidence.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan State is coming off a 5-7 season and fans have been plagued by disappointment for months. But seeing potential breakout performers like Adeleye and Henry promising that 2023 will be different is a refreshing sight. Anyone can just say stuff like this, however, and fans will be hoping to see it in action when the season kicks off on Labor Day weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Adeleye has a good chance to live up to this promise. He was the No. 39 overall recruit in the 2021 class and he played in just two games with Texas A&amp;M after redshirting in 2021. Tunmise had six total tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss in that limited action.
