{"id":4118,"date":"2023-05-16T08:00:07","date_gmt":"2023-05-16T12:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=4118"},"modified":"2023-05-16T04:30:48","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T08:30:48","slug":"michigan-state-football-top-150-brauntae-johnson-official-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=4118","title":{"rendered":"Michigan State football: Top-150 WR Brauntae Johnson schedules official visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Four-star wide receiver Brauntae Johnson has locked in an official visit with Michigan State football for June 2.<\/h2>\n<p>Receivers have been the topic of conversation lately regarding Michigan State football.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of weeks ago, <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/keon-coleman-departure-from-msu-may-not-be-done-deal-yet\/\">Keon Coleman entered the transfer portal<\/a>. Right before that, <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/history-shows-that-jayden-reed-long-successful-nfl-career\/\">Jayden Reed was picked in the second round<\/a> of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. And a few months prior, Germie Bernard entered the transfer portal and committed to Washington.<\/p>\n<p>As if that wasn&#8217;t receiver overload in terms of offseason news, four-star <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-football-last-crack-4-star-wr-nick-marsh\/\">Nick Marsh decommitted<\/a> from the Spartans this spring in order to take some visits and check out other programs.<\/p>\n<p>Oh yeah, and both Tyler Harrell and Jahdae Walker were top receiver transfer targets for Mel Tucker but <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/michigan-state-football-receiver-transfer-finds-new-home\/\">they each committed elsewhere<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Well, the receiver news isn&#8217;t quite extinguished yet.<\/p>\n<p>According to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, four-star top-150 wide receiver Brauntae Johnson has planned an official visit to Michigan State.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Fort Wayne (Ind.) This is a big official visit for Courtney Hawkins who is trying to reload the receiving corps after a busy offseason.<\/p>\n<p>Hawkins has done a really solid job of recruiting top receivers while at Michigan State and while Marsh is the No. 1 priority, Johnson can&#8217;t be too far behind.<\/p>\n<p>The four-star from Indiana is ranked the No. 127 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports. He&#8217;s also listed as an &#8220;athlete&#8221; &#8212; a position in which he&#8217;s ranked No. 8 nationally.<\/p>\n<p>Mel Tucker is in desperate need of some recruiting momentum after losing his top two recruits in the 2024 class and he&#8217;ll have a chance to really bounce back in June with dozens of big-time official visits scheduled.
