{"id":5738,"date":"2023-07-17T15:37:28","date_gmt":"2023-07-17T19:37:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=5738"},"modified":"2023-07-17T15:37:28","modified_gmt":"2023-07-17T19:37:28","slug":"cassius-winston-compared-hunter-dickinson-podcast-host","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/?p=5738","title":{"rendered":"Hunter Dickinson asked podcast host to say he had better career than Cassius Winston"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Hunter Dickinson agreed to go on a podcast as long as one of the hosts said he had a better career than Cassius Winston.<\/h2>\n<p>I want to start this piece off by getting all of the gross Hunter Dickinson copy out of the way since Spartan Shadows is a site focused on Michigan State athletics and not \u2018the school down the road.&#8217; That said, when an arch rival takes shots at our beloved point guard, ChopMan cannot sit back in good conscious and not defend <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/tom-izzo-says-cassius-winston-will-be-the-next-to-have-msu-jersey-retired\/\">Cassius Winston<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a Spartan homer, and my bias is great. I\u2019ve seen plenty of buffoons from the university in Ann Arbor but former Michigan basketball player Hunter Dickinson might just take the cake. He has made waves this offseason for saying that \u2018Kansas basketball\u2019s practices are harder\u2019 than Michigan&#8217;s and \u2018Michigan residents are fake Midwest\u2019 and has honestly done an impressive job of burning the bridge between himself and his former school.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s where it gets interesting.<\/p>\n<p>On a recent Sleepers Podcast, Greg Waddell (@gwizzy12 on Twitter) says that Dickinson agreed to join the College Hoops To Go podcast in Ann Arbor but he had only one stipulation: The podcast must say that Dickinson had a better career at Michigan than Cassius Winston had at Michigan State.<\/p>\n<p>The claim is about 49 seconds into the video below.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hunter Dickson won\u2019t stop talking about Michigan and says Kansas has nicer people. Here is a short list of just some of Winston\u2019s accolades at MSU:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Big Ten Player of the Year (2019)<\/li>\n<li>2x first-team All-Big Ten (2019, 2020)<\/li>\n<li>All-time Big Ten assists leader<\/li>\n<li>2019 Final Four<\/li>\n<li>2019 Big Ten Tournament champion<\/li>\n<li>3x Big Ten regular season champion<\/li>\n<li>3 (should have been 4) NCAA Tournament appearances<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It can be argued that Cassius Winston is the most beloved and decorated player in Michigan State basketball history.
