That includes Michigan State football.<\/p>\n<p>The Spartans lost <a href=\"http:\/\/spartanshadows.com\/vegas-odds-project-payton-thorne-will-lose-auburns-qb-battle\/\">Payton Thorne<\/a> to Auburn which opened the door for unproven veteran passer Noah Kim and anticipated second-year gunslinger Katin Houser to battle it out. The battle has been ongoing since the spring but we&#8217;ll surely get a better grasp on the leader in the coming month as practice gets underway.<\/p>\n<p>Is there a favorite to win the race? It&#8217;s hard to say, but Vegas weighed in with some odds this week.<\/p>\n<p>According to BetOnline, Kim is a pretty healthy favorite.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Per BetOnline, here are the odds for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MichiganState?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#MichiganState<\/a>\u2019s Week 1 starting QB: <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Noah Kim: -200<br \/>&#8211; Katin Houser: +150<\/p>\n<p>Other notables around CFB:<br \/>&#8211; Auburn: Payton Thorne (+100) is the underdog vs Robby Ashford (-140)<br \/>&#8211; UCLA: Dante Moore (+100) is the underdog vs Ethan Garbers (-140)<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Justin Thind (@JustinThind) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JustinThind\/status\/1683665347738587136?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 25, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Kim starting Week 1 is a -200 bet while Houser would win you some money if he trots out there as the starter against Central Michigan at +150. This isn&#8217;t a huge shock as Kim is the veteran in the quarterback room and he&#8217;s learned the offense for years while Houser is the unproven underclassman. Still, Houser is a former blue-chip and Elite 11 quarterback so a lot of fans are hoping he takes the field as QB1 in the opener.<\/p>\n<p>If you like to bet on anything and everything and have a good hunch about the quarterback job, take a swing.<\/p>\n<p>Justin Thind shared some other interesting bets from BetOnline regarding quarterback battles as Thorne is the underdog for the Auburn job and former five-star target Dante Moore is (surprisingly) projected to back up Ethan Garbers. I&#8217;d probably put money on both Thorne and Moore starting at Auburn and UCLA, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Whoever starts for Michigan State, however, faces the tough task of turning the program back in the right direction after the disaster that was 2022. Vegas thinks it&#8217;s Kim.
