He suffered what looks to be a significant knee injury that required surgery on it as well.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">God is great all of the time and has a different journey for all of us! That being said, I wanted to share I have recently suffered a knee injury and needed to get it surgically repaired. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XTj67AHj76\">pic.twitter.com\/XTj67AHj76<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Stanton Ramil (@StantonRamil) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StantonRamil\/status\/1697039404785615083?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 31, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>Extremely talented recruit<\/h3>\n<p>Ramil is one of the stars from <a href=\"https:\/\/msuspartans.com\/sports\/football\">Michigan State\u2019s<\/a> very talented 2023 class. He is a massive offensive tackle, and massive may be an understatement. 247Sports has him listed at 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds. You just can\u2019t teach size like that in a true freshmen, so having that on our squad is a huge advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Ramil ended the 2023 rankings as a four-star and No. 222 recruit in the country. He is also the 17th best offensive tackle as well. As mentioned, Ramil was one of the headliners of the Spartans\u2019 2023 class. He is the fourth-highest ranked commit in our class, but arguably could be the most important. Offensive tackle is one of the most important positions in football. Having elite talent at that position is a requirement if you want to be a great football team, and Ramil fits the mold perfectly of an elite talent at the position.<\/p>\n<p>He is an elite blocker both in the run and pass game, and has great athleticism for his size and age. He has a quick burst out of his stance and had great bend to out position the opposing defenders. To be as blunt as possible, <a href=\"https:\/\/msuspartans.com\/sports\/football\/roster\/coaches\/mel-tucker\/1059\">Mel Tucker<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/msuspartans.com\/staff-directory\/chris-kapilovic\/588\">Chris Kapilovic<\/a> got the perfect tackle in this class.<\/p>\n<h3>How significant is this injury?<\/h3>\n<p>Nothing about the severity of the injury was shared online. In one of his tweets, Ramil said, \u201cI\u2019ll be out there soon.\u201d I don\u2019t think you can take that literally, however.<\/p>\n<p>To me this is just a figure of speech and not an indication that he will actually be back on the field soon. When it comes to surgeries and large knee braces like he is seen wearing, it tends to be a significant amount of time spent on the sidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Even with how highly-ranked of a recruit Ramil was, it was still unlikely for him to have gotten much playing time this year. He may have seen a few snaps in blowouts, but likely would not have had many snaps in significant moments of the game. That has nothing to do with his playing ability. This is a normal trend for all offensive linemen in college football. It is extremely rare to see anyone play on the line as a true freshman. Even the best linemen in the country don\u2019t see the field much in their first year. So this injury may not impact wins and losses this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This injury does, however, impact Ramil\u2019s future. As mentioned, freshman offensive linemen need a lot of time to develop in the college game. That is what Stanton will miss out on. Those crucial practice reps and weight training is a tough thing for him to miss. I think Ramil is plenty good enough to overcome that, but there\u2019s no denying how detrimental this could be to his development.<\/p>\n<p>I hope Ramil has an extremely fast recovery.
