Keon Coleman returns “home” to East Lansing rocking Steven Izzo jersey
Keon missed home.
Despite transferring from Michigan State last offseason, Keon Coleman made his way back “home” to East Lansing on Wednesday.
Michigan State won a nail-biter of a game 53-49 against a scrappy Northwestern team on Wednesday night. It may not have been the Senior Night we were all hoping for, but a win is a win and that’s all that matters in March. Many things were shocking about this game, but nothing was more shocking than a special visitor who sat courtside during the game: Keon Coleman.
Coleman attends senior night in East Lansing
Yes, you read that correctly. Former Spartan standout wide receiver Keon Coleman was at the game Wednesday night, sitting courtside and cheering his former teammates on.

As I’m sure you all remember, Keon spent his first two seasons in East Lansing. He was an elite wide receiver on the football field but was also an impressive basketball player. After all, he is the only Spartan to score against Michigan in both basketball and football.
After two seasons at Michigan State, he shockingly decided to transfer to Florida State last offseason. He found a lot of success with the Seminoles and helped lead their team to a perfect 13-0 record and ACC championship before losing their bowl game.
Some fans have a little ill-will toward Coleman after he left. Some people also thought that Keon didn’t like Michigan State anymore either. I think that can now be out to bed after what Keon said after the game.
Caught up with Keon Coleman for just a moment after the game. He was in a No. 13 Steven Izzo jersey. Asked him why he came tonight, and he said “this is home.” Signed a ton of stuff and took a bunch of photos on the way out of Breslin.

“This is home.”
Isn’t that the truth. The culture at Michigan State is second to none, and Keon returning to support his former teammates proves that without a doubt. But in case you had any lingering doubts about Keon, here he is after the game sitting with the team.

And before anyone asks, yes, Keon is wearing a Steven Izzo jersey. Legendary stuff.
Coleman has entered his name into the upcoming NFL draft and I am excited to see where he ends up. He has made a lifelong fan out of me.
