Ward, one of two Michigan State commits in the class of 2025 along with Jordan Scott, broke Mike Roberts’ record that stood for 33 years since 1992 on Tuesday night. Ward put up 28 points and 15 rebounds in Largo’s victory against Fairmont Heights. Now standing at 2,618 total career points, Ward expects to continue raising his record until he moves to the Big Ten.
The Spartans head basketball coach Tom Izzo was also in attendance Tuesday, along with associate head coach Doug Wojcik, whom Ward was recruited by.

As the season presses on for Largo, Ward and his father who is the head coach are looking to win back-to-back state championships at the 2A level.
Ward is currently ranked as the 50th best player in his class, and second-best in his home state of Maryland, just behind Eric Reibe of UConn.
