Michigan State football players react to Mel Tucker suspension
Some players have reacted to today’s news.
Mel Tucker’s suspension caught every by surprise this weekend and Michigan State football players reacted on social media.
Have you heard the news yet? In case you have not, Michigan State football coach Mel Tucker has been suspended without pay after sexual harassment allegations have emerged. Click here to read more about the allegations and investigation.
When I first heard this news, I had no idea how Michigan State players would react. Would they want to leave the program immediately? Would they come together as one unit and become even stronger? Some players have taken to X (Twitter) to voice they are still strong with the program and their team.
No player has made a direct comment about Mel Tucker specifically, and I don’t expect any player to do so.
However, here are a few tweets from Michigan State players showing they will stand strong during this tough time.

Team reaction to Mark Dantonio announcement
Maybe the best reaction of all came from a quote from Michigan State 247Sports reporter Stephen Brooks. Have a look and see the Spartan players’ reaction to former head coach Mark Dantonio’s return to the program.
Haller called Mark Dantonio this morning and asked him to come back. His response: "Alan, whatever you need." Dantonio is expected back in town tomorrow. Haller adds "the student-athletes were fired up" when they learned of Dantonio's return.

It is awesome to see the team react positively to Dantonio’s return. He is arguably the greatest head coach in Michigan State football history. Not only that, he is a well-respected person who always does things the right way. Mark should be able to bring consistency, maturity, and respect to the program in a time when we need it most.
If these posts mean anything, I think our program is going to be in good shape. We will see how each player feels in due time, I just hope they all feel the same way as those above and choose to stick with the program.
