According to Connor Stalions himself, he gave Michigan State football signs and plays to Ohio State in 2021 to help the Buckeyes.
If you’re anything like me, you’re probably sick and tired of hearing about Michigan and Connor Stalions. But it seems like every day, there’s a new development in the saga but it never truly pertains to Michigan State football.
Well, that changed this week.
Stalions appeared on a Barstool podcast with Taylor Lewan and said plenty of interesting things about the cheating scandal and even admitted that he attempted to help his team’s biggest rival.
According to some of his quotes, Stalions admitted to sharing Michigan State’s signs with Ohio State after the Wolverines lost to Kenneth Walker III and the Spartans in 2021. He said that he knew Michigan State losing would help Michigan’s chances of making the Big Ten title game so he tried to get the Spartans’ signs to Ohio State.
Just an insane quote.
Not only is this just a wild move because he helped his biggest rival out, but admitting that he did it while changing the optics to make it look like it came from a different program so Ohio State would take it seriously is some unhinged stuff.
Stalions has done some wild things for Michigan over the years to help the Wolverines get over the hump and into the national spotlight, but this one is up there. It’s hard to believe that he actually sent over Michigan State’s signs and plays after losing to the Spartans just to help the Buckeyes out as it would improve the Wolverines’ Big Ten title chances.
Well, it worked.
While Stalions admitted that he doesn’t know if Ohio State actually accepted the signs because they “probably already had them”, it doesn’t mean that this move shouldn’t be punishable.
Ohio State definitely didn’t need his help (it won like 100-0) as all it needed to do was shut down the run game and make Payton Thorne beat the Buckeyes with his arm, but if it somehow came down to a close game, they would have all the info they needed.
