Former Michigan State basketball star Malik Hall had his eighth NBA workout with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.

It’s that time of the offseason already when we gear up to see which former Michigan State basketball players will be selected in the NBA draft or signed as undrafted free agents on Summer League squads. Malik Hall and Tyson Walker will be looking for new homes next week.

With the NBA draft just about a week away, we’re seeing guys working out for teams and Hall has been putting in some serious work.

In fact, the Spartan forward wrapped up his eighth different team workout on Tuesday and this time it was with the Golden State Warriors who might actually be a solid fit for him.

Hall has had eight workouts and he still has a few more scheduled before the 2024 NBA Draft which means that teams are giving him a legitimate look. He’s garnering interest from about a third of the league and that means that even if he’s not drafted, he’s going to have some options when it comes to the Summer League. There’s a good chance he goes undrafted (I haven’t seen him on any mocks), but you never know how good these workouts could go and how impressed NBA teams are.

Michigan State fans will remember Hall fondly as he went from one of the more frustrating — yet talented — players in 2022-23 to a team leader and a main reason the Spartans actually made the NCAA Tournament in 2023-24. He had a Joey Hauser-like redemption arc.

If an NBA team does take a chance on him, they’re getting a player with a high motor and a league-ready body who can shoot it from midrange, post up, and defend pretty much any position one through four.

Plus, who wouldn’t want to see how Draymond Green takes him under his wing and helps him grow?
