Michigan State basketball: Gallery from Basketball and Hockey Double-Header

On Friday, Michigan State basketball hosted former Spartan assistant Mark Montgomery and the Detroit Mercy Titans. Immediately following the event, Michigan State hockey was in action, hosting the Wisconsin Badgers in early Big Ten Conference play.

Spartan Shadows photographer Nolan Gerou was among those pulling the double feature, trekking across Birch Road to jet from the Breslin Center to Ron Mason Rink at Munn Ice Arena. For Michigan State basketball, it was a successful defense of home turf, with Jeremy Fears Jr. leading the Spartans with 18 points and 11 assists in an 84-56 victory.

For Spartan hockey, however, it was not as successful. MSU fell to the Badgers 5-4 in a highly contested and spirited contest.
