Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo will be hosting five prospects on Sunday, including two five-stars in the 2025 class.
As the Michigan State basketball season is coming to an end, the Spartans don’t have many exciting weekends to host some of their recruits on campus. The Ohio State game on Sunday is the last weekend home game of the season. The Spartans still have one more home game, but that is a weekday game when recruits don’t typically make visits.
Tom Izzo is making the most of this being the last weekend home game by prioritizing recruiting. So much so that he has five highly-ranked recruits visiting for the game including two five-stars.
Two five-star teammates
The first two recruits visiting MSU for the Ohio State game are two five-star teammates. The first is Jerry Easter who is one of the best combo guards in the country. He is the No. 26 player in the country and the No. 5 combo guard according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. This will be Easter’s second visit to East Lansing, as he also made the trip to campus last September as well.
Easter is joined by his high school teammate Darius Adams who is also an elite combo guard. And 247Sports has him slightly higher in their rankings as the No. 22 overall player and No. 4 at his position. According to 247Sports, this will be Adams’ first visit to East Lansing. Michigan State recently offered him in early January, so a visit this soon after the offer could be a great sign for the Spartans.
Four-star Chuck Love
Chuck Love is the third visitor for Michigan State for the OSU game, and he, too, is another teammate of Easter and Adams. He may not be a five-star like his teammates, but he is no joke of a recruit. Love is the No. 61 player in the country and No. 16 small forward. Love, like his teammates, is in the 2025 class as well.
These three players all play for La Lumiere in Indiana, which Izzo has had success recruiting in years past. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jeremy Fears both played at this school, so that connection could help Michigan State a lot in their recruitments.
2026 visitors
The final two visitors this weekend are both in the 2026 class. Being in the 2026 class may not make them as much of a priority right now, but that doesn’t mean Izzo can’t start laying the groundwork.
Steven Reynolds is the first of two 2026 recruits and he is also from Indiana as well. He is an extremely high four-star shooting guard according to 247Sports. Reynolds is the No. 38 player in the 2026 class and the No. 10 player at his position.
The final visitor for Michigan State basketball is Gabe Sularski. Gabe is another shooting guard as well, but he is from Illinois. Gabe is the No. 1 player from Illinois according to 247Sports and is the No. 52 player in the country.
Now all we have to hope for is that these visits go extremely well. A win for MSU would go a long way as well as a great showing from the fanbase. The two 2026 recruits likely aren’t thinking about committing anytime soon, but the three 2025 recruits realistically could. None of them have commitment dates scheduled, but anything can happen in recruiting.
Here’s to hoping these visits go well and MSU gets the win over Ohio State.
