Michigan State basketball has made the trimmed list for three of the top prospects in the 2025 class this week.

Wednesday is a big day for Michigan State basketball fans.

While it may seem like an ordinary fall day in September, it’s actually a fairly important day for Tom Izzo and the Spartans as one of their top targets, Jalen Haralson, is getting set to announce his decision in the evening.

The five-star forward from La Lumiere in Indiana is choosing between the Hoosiers, Notre Dame, and Michigan State and the word on the street is actually that the Irish are in a good spot. All three schools and coaches feel like they’re in a good spot with Haralson, but he’s keeping his decision under wraps. But he is the first elite prospect to name the Spartans on his trimmed list of schools this week with a decision looming.

Outside of Haralson, five-star guard Darius Adams (also from La Lumiere) trimmed his list to three and included the Spartans, Tennessee, and UConn.

If Haralson and Adams wanted to play together (there is no indication of this other than them being at the same prep school), Michigan State is the only common finalist for both. That could mean something but it likely means nothing.

Haralson is the No. 13 prospect in the 2025 class, per the 247Sports Composite, and Adams is right behind him as a five-star, listed as the No. 19 overall recruit and No. 4 shooting guard.

But Michigan State made one more five-star’s top group this week.

One final elite prospect has trimmed his list to five. That prospect is five-star small forward Dwayne Aristode. The talented recruit from New Hampshire is ranked the No. 18 prospect in the class and he’s the fourth-best small forward.

Aristode is down to USC, Duke, Arizona, Michigan State, and the NBL. USC got a visit all the way back in January but Michigan State got the first “fall” visit back in August from Aristode. It feels like the Spartans are in a good spot here, too.

Only one of these three five-stars in which Michigan State basketball is a finalist for has a crystal ball prediction on 247Sports and that’s Adams to UConn (he has two predictions to land with the Huskies). That means the other two are fairly possible still. We’ll find out where Haralson goes on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET.
