Michigan State football fans are desperate for any sort of updates and Alan Haller provided that on Monday evening.
The life of Michigan State football fans is never dull. There’s always something happening.
And most of the time, we’re left in the dark, searching for answers. Fortunately, after the entire Mel Tucker saga was wrapped up last week (for the time being), Alan Haller provided an update for fans on Monday. He had it posted on social media.
If you’re looking for some cliff notes, Haller basically thanked the community for continuing to support the football team and he said that it has been noticed and the team is thankful for it. He praised fans for showing up in big numbers to support the team during home games throughout this entire process.
Haller went on to say that he can’t provide many updates during the national coaching search. He did say that he’ll be looking for top-tier candidates, most of whom are currently coaching their own seasons. This could mean that there are candidates who are not currently coaching anywhere, but it could also just mean that he can’t speak on anything while he’s doing his due diligence behind the scenes.
He went on to say that we are going to hear names rumored as candidates and he’s going to be doing everything he can to interview the right candidates to lead the Spartan football program.
On top of that, he set a goal for the program, saying that a couple of weeks ago, we celebrated the 2014 Rose Bowl team and that should be the expectation for the program moving forward. Haller said that this is an elite athletic department and should have expectations as such.
This should be music to Michigan State football fans’ ears. We expect greatness and so does he.
