Michigan State football has extended another offer to an elite four-star quarterback in the 2025 class, Madden Iamaleava.
Jonathan Smith is on the heels of hosting his first Junior Day with Michigan State football, but that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to recruit kids who didn’t visit this weekend. Smith and his staff have prioritized the quarterback position so far this offseason. They have handed out countless offers to some of the best quarterbacks in the class, and that is the case here again.
Four-star QB Madden Iamaleava
Madden Iamaleava is a four-star quarterback in the 2025 class. He is 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds from Downey, Calif. To those of you who follow recruiting closely, his last name might sound familiar. His older brother, Nico Iamaleava, was the No. 2 overall player in the 2023 class and now plays for Tennessee. So it sounds like elite quarterbacks run in the family.
Madden may not be as highly ranked as his brother, but he is still a very impressive recruit. He is the No. 164 player in the 2025 class and the No. 11 quarterback, according to 247Sports. He was the backup to his older brother in high school, so he didn’t get his first start until his junior season, but he did enough to impress a lot of people.
He has elite arm strength and possesses the ability to be a threat running the ball as well. His accuracy has improved and he can even be accurate throwing the ball on the run. One interesting note on Iamaleava is that he is also an elite volleyball player. Football is his main focus, but being great at volleyball shows the athleticism that he has.
It’s unclear who the front runners in his recruitment are, but he also holds offers from Tennessee, Auburn, Nebraska, Washington, Ole Miss, and Colorado. It’ll be interesting to see if he wants to follow his brother to Tennessee, as the timing for both of them to be starters one after the other is perfect.
Regardless, the next step for Michigan State football is to get Madden on campus, which will be a difficult challenge.
