Michigan State football had a handful of surprising opt-outs in EA Sports College Football 25. Who are they?

If you’re anything like me, Monday was darn near a national holiday. Michigan State football fans got to quench their college football thirst by playing as Aidan Chiles and Jack Velling in the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game.

Fans will get to play as all of their favorite Spartans in the new game.

Well, most of their favorite Spartans.

Every player has been able to choose to opt-in or opt-out of the new game. There have been very few opt-outs publicized because most players want to see their likeness in the newest video game but some Spartans have decided not to appear in the EA Sports College Football 25 game.

The most surprising opt-out was Cal Haladay who appears to have missed the deadline by accident. Also choosing to opt out is transfer running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams, receiver Jaron Glover, lineman Brandon Baldwin, and offensive tackle Rustin Young all opted out of the game.

There’s a decent chance that all of these guys forgot to opt in by the deadline, but it’s disappointing that we won’t be able to play as Haladay, Lynch-Adams, Glover, Baldwin, or Young. Imagine all of the deadly one-two punches the backfield would have in the game with KLA or the circus catches to be made by Glover from the arm of Chiles. And Baldwin and Young would have bolstered a young, unproven offensive line.

Fortunately, these guys just aren’t in the game and they’ll be ready to go by the regular season on the field. Maybe when the game does its midseason update, the missing Spartans will be added.

For now, though, Michigan State football fans will have to live without the handful of Spartans who chose not to be in the game.
