Michigan State football may be close to landing its 2025 class quarterback as it received a prediction for a three-star from California.
Michigan State football is in the middle of a very exciting offseason. Jonathan Smith has restored hope in the program as he has hit the ground running since becoming the head coach in East Lansing. The hope and excitement for the future appears to once again be continuing through early March.
The Spartans received some good news on the recruiting trail on Tuesday as they appear to be in position to land their quarterback for the 2025 class.
Three-star QB Leo Hannan
Michigan State has received a prediction on On3 to land talented quarterback Leo Hannan. He is a three-star quarterback in the 2025 class from Long Beach, Calif. Hannan is the No. 709 player in the country and the No. 48 quarterback in his class, according to On3’s rankings — 247Sports, however, is even higher on Hannan than On3, ranking him as the No. 19 quarterback in the class.
Hannan had a very solid junior season, which was his first as a starter in high school. He led his team to an 8-6 record, completing 197-of-309 passes. He also threw for 2,429 yards, 14 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He isn’t just a threat in the air as he is a capable runner as well. During his junior season, he also ran the ball for 213 yards and six more touchdowns.
This prediction for Hannan to commit to Michigan State comes about a month after he visited East Lansing. He visited MSU during Jonathan Smith’s first Junior Day, which took place on Feb. 3. Hannan reportedly also plans to make a return trip to East Lansing this spring, but a date hasn’t been set yet.
A commitment date has not been set yet and there isn’t any indication that he could commit soon. But the Spartans are in prime position to land Hannan and really get the momentum for the 2025 class going.
