Speculation has been running rampant these days regarding some of the top Michigan State football players flirting with the transfer portal. Obviously in this day and age of NIL and the transfer portal, any top player is a candidate to leave their current program.

So when Nick Marsh’s record-breaking freshman season ended at Michigan State, fans were immediately worried about his future.

After rumors of a new NIL deal have circulated and some reports (like this one from David Harns) have hinted at a return, Marsh took to X and posted a tweet that talked a lot of Michigan State fans off the ledge. Marsh’s simple “Go Green!” tweet with a yelling emoji was enough to get fans to buy all the way back in because the top player on the offensive side of the ball would be returning. Pair him with Aidan Chiles again and it feels like the offense is coming together nicely.

Obviously this isn’t an official announcement, but all you have to do is read between the lines with all the rumors circulating about his return and then him tweeting this in the midst of that. It seems like he has made his decision and he’ll be sticking with the Spartans.

This would be great news for the program because he’s arguably the top NFL prospect on the roster and he’s the straw that stirs the offense’s drink. Plus, we remember a couple of years ago when an elite receiver decided to transfer amid some program uncertainty and ended up getting drafted in the second round but still shows love to Michigan State and Courtney Hawkins. Fans did not want to see a repeat of Keon Coleman here.

And it looks like that will be avoided.

If Michigan State can add a couple of transfer receivers alongside Marsh as well as a featured back via the portal, the offense is going to be cooking next season as long as Chiles improves this offseason.

This tweet might just be a nice early Christmas present.
