The final slate of visitors is here and Michigan State football is closing up official visit season with some decent prospects.

Well everyone, we are officially in the latter third of June. With the latest NCAA no-contact/dead period approaching, this weekend marks the last round of official visits for Michigan State football in the summer window.

After this weekend, any class of 2025 high school prospects who hope to decide on their school before their senior year will have a couple of weeks to settle down and pick which school is best for them. This is a popular choice. A lot of players like to wrap up recruitments before their senior seasons so they can focus on enjoying it. Or if they plan on finishing early it allows them to get ready to cram in the fall to graduate and get to campus after signing day in December.

So with that in mind, it’s a pretty big weekend for the Spartans.

Hopefully we learn where a couple of big-time targets for us will be going in the next few weeks. Whether they have already been on campus for us or are coming this weekend, they should be finishing up officials and will need to make a decision soon.

This weekend also gives the staff a chance to finalize anything needed and regroup after a busy stretch in June. MSU has had multiple kids on campus every weekend since the end of May. Having this chance to relax and take stock will be nice before shifting focus to the regular season.

So without further ado, who will be on campus starting Friday for the final weekend stretch? Let’s take a look.

  • Vanzale Hinton, 3-star CB — Paducah, Ky. (current Vanderbilt commit)

Vanzale Hinton is a tall cornerback who is ranked as the 832nd player in the country per the 247Sports Composite. He has been committed to Vanderbilt since April 21. The Spartans and defensive backs coach Blue Adams have been working quite a bit at trying to flip the talented corner.

He is athletic and played multiple positions on his high school football team last year including receiver and cornerback. He totaled over 1,200 all-purpose yards on offense and 42 tackles on defense to go with eight pass breakups. He can be a great addition to a talented cornerback room. Look for the Spartan staff to make a major push this weekend to finalize the potential flip and get him in the green and white.

  • Bryson Williams, 3-star ATH — Orchard Lake, Mich.

Bryson Williams has become a recurring name here in recruiting talks. He has taken a few trips to East Lansing throughout his recruitment. He is one of the handful of targets that Jonathan Smith and staff have prioritized from Orchard Lake Saint Mary’s. The others from there are current 2025 Spartan commits, Charles White and Jayden Savoury, and offensive tackle Antonio Johnson is also being heavily recruited by the staff. He was to take a visit this weekend with Williams but isn’t anymore. He and the Spartans remain in good standing and he will look to follow up as soon as possible.

The four St. Mary’s targets have become symbols of the type of players Smith might be after now. Hardworking, athletic, solid players who will help build the floor of this team and help re-establish a culture in East Lansing. Also being from a high-profile school within the state means Smith is sticking to his plan of hitting in-state programs hard.

Because of all this, Williams would be a great fit for the Michigan State football roster. The 247Sports Composite lists him as the 911th overall recruit in next year’s class. In high school, he plays linebacker, running back, and a little wide receiver. I think he would be utilized mostly on offense but is a unique talent regardless.

He is very dedicated both on and off the field. Williams also received an offer from Harvard, showing his academic prowess. He would be a great addition for the Spartans so look for the staff to also make a big push for him this weekend.

  • Aydan West, 3-star CB — Gaithersburg, Md.

Aydan West is a newer prospect on the list for the Spartans as he just received his offer from Michigan State on June 4 of this year. He has been a hot name among the recruiting talk of late. A prospect who is coming on later in the process. He holds 21 total offers. Some of them include Cincinnati, Virginia, West Virginia, Wake Forest, and Penn State. Before getting some later offers, many experts predicted him to Virginia but the late change in recruiting may lead him elsewhere.

West has seemed very excited to come check out East Lansing. Working with the Spartans’ defensive coaching staff is a big selling point for a lot of players. He stands 6-foot-0 and weighs about 185 pounds. The 247Sports Composite has him listed as the 88th-best cornerback in this class.

  •
Justin Bell, 3-star IOL — Macomb, Mich.

Another new player to the target list, Justin Bell is a big, athletic offensive line prospect from Macomb Dakota. He stands 6-foot-8 and weighs about 290 pounds. Bell received his Michigan State football offer just last weekend and instantly booked an official visit for this weekend. He seems to be very interested to see what the Spartans have to offer and likes the program a lot.

In total, Justin holds 16 offers currently. Other notable ones include Kansas, West Virginia, Indiana, and Army.

Landing a commitment from Justin would give some more depth into a surprisingly high-upside offensive line room. Jim Michalczik has been working hard at bringing in guys who have a lot of potential and will be able to be molded and mentored under his system. I am excited about a lot of the offensive line prospects and targets ranging from the last cycle to 2026. There is a lot of potential in this room and if Michalczik is able to hit on some of these players, there could be a lot of future stars anchoring that line.

  • George Mullins: 3-star CB — Bushnell, Fla.

George Mullins is another corner prospect coming in with a very high upside. He is a taller, lankier, cornerback that stands 6-foot-2 and weighs about 170 pounds. He is a multi-sport athlete in high school and is very quick. Mullins plays football, basketball, and runs track in high school. He averaged over 7.0 points per game as a freshman in basketball. In track, he also competes in the 400-meter dash and the high jump where he can show off his natural athleticism.

Florida high school football is some of the most competitive in the country and Mullins has excelled from the start of his career. He earned significant playing time at the varsity level as a freshman and even ended that year with six picks. As a sophomore, he had another solid season. This past year as a junior, he had 27 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and two picks while leading his team to the regional finals.

Mullins is another name that has really come on of late. He currently holds 21 offers. Michigan State football and new rival Oregon State have had a lot of interest in him. He also has recently taken an official visit to Mississippi State.

Look for the Spartans to make a big sell for him this weekend. Landing him would be another big get for the room.

That’s all for who will be on campus this weekend. Thanks to everyone for keeping up with all the chaos this month with the official visits and reading the recruiting articles. Go green and happy weekend, all.
