Michigan State football unveiled which uniforms it will wear during the Week 1 game against Florida Atlantic on Friday night.
Michigan State football is back, folks.
We are just two days away from the start of the 2024 season and the Jonathan Smith era and the excitement is rising by the hour. The Spartans will kick off the season on Friday night against Florida Atlantic in East Lansing and fans can’t wait to pack Spartan Stadium.
Along with game day approaching, everyone looks forward to uniform reveals ahead of each week’s matchup. In the Mel Tucker era, uniform reveals became the norm each game week and fans loved it. Actually, it was one of the few positives from the Tucker era and fans were hoping that it was one thing that got extended into the Smith era.
Fortunately for fans, it has been extended into the Smith era.
Michigan State’s official Twitter account revealed which jerseys it will wear in the opener on Wednesday evening.
As you can see, it’s a classic. While the 2023 season ended with Michigan State wearing this uniform combination in a blowout loss to Penn State at Ford Field which is a game we’d all like to forget, maybe it’s time to give fans a positive memory with these.
Obviously a lot of fans would’ve liked some sort of alternate combination, but why not go with a classic?
Smith is a no-nonsense coach who doesn’t do all the flash and has more substance. So for him and the team to go with a classic like a green helmet, green jersey, and white pants just makes so much sense. This is a Mark Dantonio era look and Smith is bringing it back for his first game.
If it were up to me, though, I’d love the all-green look under the lights but maybe we’re saving that for a bigger game.
Uniform reveal videos are back, everyone.
