Michigan State football received predictions this week to land a pair of 2025 prospects from the state of Michigan.
The good news keeps rolling in for Michigan State football this offseason. The Spartans recently received a prediction to land a quarterback in the 2025 class, and it now appears they are trending for two more recruits in the class as well.
Three-star tight end Jayden Savoury
Jayden Savoury is the first recruit to receive a prediction to commit to Michigan State. He is a three-star tight end from Orchard Lake, Mich. He is the No. 37 tight end in the country and the No. 13 player from Michigan, according to 247Sports. His ranking may not seem noteworthy, but his upside is extremely high.
Savoury did not begin playing football until his junior season. That means he only has one year of competitive football under his belt, and he is already a three-star. Now I’m not suggesting he could skyrocket into the four-star range, but to be a three-star after one year of high school football is impressive.
He picked up a prediction to land at MSU from On3 recruiting analyst Jason Killop. On3 also gives him a 95.6% chance to commit to the Spartans. There is no commitment date yet for Jayden, but all signs point in favor of Michigan State right now.
Three-star defensive back Cashus Shivers
Three-star defensive back Cashus Shivers is the second recruit who appears to be trending to Michigan State. Similarly to Savoury, Killop of On3 has logged a prediction for him to commit to MSU.
The 247Sports Composite rankings view Shivers even higher than Savoury. They have him as the No. 600 player in the country and the No. 10 player from Michigan. Shivers has yet to visit East Lansing since Jonathan Smith took over, so that makes me a little hesitant with this prediction. However, On3 currently gives MSU a 99% chance to land him so that must mean something.
Shivers does not have a commitment date lined up yet either, nor does he have any spring visits planned yet. He does, however, intend to visit East Lansing sometime this spring to get his first feel of the program under Smith.
These will be two names to watch as the recruiting season progresses. They may not commit for a while, but the Spartans have to love their chances with each.
