Only a 32-hour drive leads right to Tuesday night’s primetime action for Michigan State basketball fans as Tom Izzo’s team enters Matthew Knight Arena to take on the 8-10 Oregon Ducks in the final game of the Spartans current West Coast trip.

Michigan State enters Tuesday’s action on a recent hot streak, winning eight out of its last nine, only losing to No. 7 Nebraska on the road. The 16-2 Spartans moved up two spots in Monday’s AP Poll to 10th in the nation. After taking game one in the Pacific Northwest, the green and white move south into Duck territory, where Dana Altman will attempt the upset.

Oregon has had the opposite journey to this one, as the Ducks are currently 15th in the Big Ten with a 1-6 league record after losing to both No. 3 Michigan and No. 7 Nebraska by a combined 45 points.

Altman’s two stars are out for the game.

Junior Jackson Shelstad is out for the remainder of the season with tendon and ligament damage that may require surgery on his hand. The team’s leading scorer, senior Nate Bittle will be out for a month due to a “lower body injury” according to Altman himself.

Michigan State played Oregon twice last season, and got the best of the Ducks both times. During the season, Michigan State departed victorious, 86-74, in East Lansing, and then once more in quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament, 74-64.

Tuesday will be a testament to Michigan State basketball. With a dominant victory at Washington, how will the Spartans fare in the second game of this West Coast trip? Will the energy begin to drain or will the green and white succeed and extend their current winning streak to five games in a row?

Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. ET on FS1 or Fubo’s streaming service. You can also listen to it on the Spartan Media Network.
