The Michigan State football moms put together a fun video showing how prepared they are for the start of the season.
For those that consume all Michigan State football content on social media, like me, one of the best parts about the team the last season and some change since Jonathan Smith took over is the Spartan moms. The parents for these players are loud and proud in their support for their son (or sons, in the case of the Luniewskis and Wests), and it had led to some of the most heart-warming moments from the early Smith era.
From Nick Marsh finding his mom after the Michigan State victory over Maryland, to the team and parents rallying for Armorion Smith, to the Spartan mom get-together during spring ball, the moms provide “must-watch” content without any of the drama, just support for their sons.
On Sunday night, the Michigan State football moms did it again. Days after the “Meet The Spartans” excelled, X (formerly Twitter) got their day to meet the moms. Stephanie Stewart, the mother of redshirt freshman lineman Payton Stewart, posted a five-minute video on the platform, with the mom’s tossing the football towards the camera and bringing it close, to then reveal their game-day attire or son’s jersey.

From the ball being punted back (by punter Carson Voss’s mother, of course) to the ocean front view of Kekai Burnett’s family, to a few touchdown dances, all were proud to display the love for their sons.
The Spartan moms also have their own tailgate by Spartan Stadium this season, as revealed by MamaTron (Nick Marsh’s mother Yolanda Wilson), a few weeks ago. The post is pinned to her account for those curious.
Of course, on gameday, the Michigan State football moms will also have another chance to show their love for their sons outside of text messages, with the Spartan Walk giving the players a chance to greet their family before locking in for gameday.
As an outsider looking in, I can barely contain my excitement for the next four days.
