Michigan State football picked up an important commitment over the weekend and he’s already hard at work on the 2024 class.
If you were unplugged over the Easter weekend, you probably missed Michigan State football ending a long drought on the recruiting trail. The Spartans picked up a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Andrew Dennis who happens to be one of the best prospects in the state.
Dennis, a three-star from Mount Pleasant, chose the Spartans over about two dozen other offers and he’s already working hard at improving his 2024 class.
Usually when a kid commits, you don’t hear much from him for a while, but there are sometimes leaders who stand out and try to work on their fellow classmates. Dennis seems to be the latter, committing over the weekend and immediately working on getting others to join him.
In fact, four-star in-state tight end Dylan Mesman announced that he would be committing on April 28 with a top five schools coming out right before and Dennis made sure to let him know what the move was.
Mesman has looked like a Michigan State lean for a while now, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see him follow Dennis to East Lansing.
And Dennis didn’t stop there. Actually, he went after one of the bigger fish on the Spartans’ recruiting board: Xadavien Sims.
Sims is the No. 121 recruit in the country and the 16th-best defensive lineman, according to 247Sports, and Michigan State has looked good in this recruitment as well. But they’ll have to climb an uphill battle to beat out his loaded top-10 list of schools.
But Dennis is working on him.
Every class needs a recruit like Dennis to work on fellow recruits and do some recruiting of his own to grow the class and make it the best possible.
Let’s hope Dennis’ hard work pays off.
