Four-star in-state offensive lineman Avery Gach has locked in the first of three upcoming visits with Michigan State football.
Michigan State football is in the thick of spring practice right now, but that hasn’t stopped the coaching staff from hitting the recruiting trail hard. Now is the time when MSU needs to work hard and work to get visits from recruits across the country.
That’s exactly what MSU has done as it has lined up a visit with one of the best recruits from Michigan.
Avery Gach is one of the top recruits in the country as a four-star offensive lineman and according to 247Sports is the No. 2 player in the state of Michigan. He also is the No. 196 overall prospect and No. 13 at his position as well.
It’s very important for MSU to recruit Gach hard being that he is one of the top recruits in the state and country, and that is exactly what Jonathan Smith is doing. Gach announced that he will be taking a visit to watch Michigan State practice this spring on April 13.
He also said he plans on lining up two more visits to East Lansing after this one as well. Gach will look to make another visit later this spring as well as an official visit this summer.
These visits are extremely significant as it shows that the Spartans are near the top, if not at the top of his list right now. Especially considering that the Spartans’ biggest rival Michigan appeared to be the frontrunner in his recruitment.
The Wolverines are the only team with a crystal ball prediction on 247Sports to win his recruiting battle but that prediction came in November so it doesn’t really hold much value anymore.
But it appears MSU has closed the gap on Michigan and might even be the leader at this point. More information will likely come out next month after his visit, but if Gach does in fact schedule two more visits then we should all feel very good about where Michigan State stands in his recruitment.
