Former MSU star Draymond Green has signed a new deal with the Warriors, making them NBA title contenders once again.
Draymond Green is back at Golden State and it’s not a cheap contract for the Warriors.
It was reported that the contract is four years worth $100 million. This is a very nice contract for Draymond, who some people thought could have possibly been out the door at Golden State especially after the incident with Jordan Poole.
What does this mean for Draymond and Golden State?
This means that Golden State can continue to compete for championships. Some people might not realize or think that Draymond is important to the Warriors’ success but he is. His own coach even stated that Golden State doesn’t compete for a championship without him. Some people might think this is just Steve Kerr trying to get Draymond to come back and it probably was part of that but it seems like he means it. He means it because Golden State was willing to trade a young player in Poole and sign Draymond, who is a player that has been in the league for many years.
Draymond not only is a great player and facilitator, but he is also a proven winner.
With this move, Golden State and Draymond can continue to play great defense and keep that core together that has won so much. This also means that Draymond might be ending his career at Golden State. You never know how many years a player will play in the NBA and this could be it.
Draymond could call it a career and go into coaching, maybe come back to Michigan State.
This four-year contract opens so many possibilities for Draymond and it is a very well-deserved contract.
