July 7 could be a massive day for Michigan State football recruiting for the 2024 class. Could there be a domino effect?

In just 24 hours, Michigan State football fans could be staring directly at a 2024 recruiting class that’s flirting with the top 30 nationally.

A month ago, Michigan State was sitting in the 70-80 range with three total commits, but things have changed in a hurry. The Spartans landed seven commitments in June and one thus far in July. On July 7, however, things could get even crazier for Mel Tucker’s 2024 class.

Four-star receiver and former commit Nick Marsh is announcing his decision. Penn State made a good run at him along with Pitt and Kansas, but Michigan State seemed to retake the lead.

Another top target is planning an announcement on July 7: Dylan Williams. The four-star linebacker from California visited officially on June 2 and he’s also been high on Oregon. He has one 247Sports crystal ball prediction to the Ducks, but that’s three weeks old now and no one else has followed. Could this be a sign that Michigan State is in a really good spot? I’d venture a guess that the answer to that is yes.

If all goes as planned on Friday, July 7, Michigan State’s 2024 class is going to get exponentially better.

Not only would the additions of Marsh and Williams put the Spartans in the top-35 range nationally, but it would also open the door for some other West Coast targets to join the fold. Williams could set off a domino effect for the Spartans.

Who else could follow the four-star linebacker? Well, four-star running back Jason Brown and four-star offensive lineman DeAndre Carter would be two highly possible additions.

On top of those guys, Kamar Mothudi (announcing July 10) could follow his friend and fellow linebacker to East Lansing — I do think this is less likely due to playing time.

Long story short, July 7 could yield fireworks for Michigan State football both immediately and in the long run. Stay tuned.
