As if Michigan State basketball fans needed more of a reason to buy into the Coen Carr hype, he showed off an unreal vertical.
Coen Carr is not a human being. I’m actually convinced of this at this point. The Michigan State basketball freshman has to be from another planet. There’s just no other explanation for what he continues to show.
We all know that he’s capable of incredible dunks and he has some of the best hops in all of college basketball before even stepping foot on the court in a live game. Some might even say that he’s the best athlete to come around college hoops in years. And it’s tough to argue.
Need proof? We’ve got you:
As you can see, Michigan State was doing a vertical test on Monday and all Carr did was defeat the entire test and basically touch the top of the backboard. Not only that, but his head was above the rim. That’s not a normal athletic achievement there. He could put his entire arm in the hoop Vince Carter-style if he truly wanted to.
Obviously social media went insane after this was posted and everyone’s already talking about what the first dunk at Breslin is going to look like.
Just imagine Carr on a breakaway with no defenders in front of him at Breslin. The crowd will be glued to the court, you’ll be able to hear a pin drop, and Carr will more than likely pull off a dunk we’ve never seen before in East Lansing, blowing the roof off the place. The anticipation for that moment is palpable.
Every highlight we see from this kid somehow outdoes the last. The summer started with between-the-legs dunks in Moneyball and we’ve moved on to “touching the top of the backboard” highlights.
I’m more amazed by Carr every single time I see him jump. And so are his teammates.
