The 2024 Michigan State basketball recruiting class is officially ranked 15th in the nation with player rankings finalized.
Our friends over at 247Sports completed their final class of 2024 rankings adjustment for basketball and this signifies the turning of the guard over to the 2025 class. Where does Michigan State basketball stand?
The Duke Blue Devils are the biggest winners from the 2025 class. Now that the rankings are finalized, Duke sports the No. 1 class headlined by the unanimous No. 1 player in the class, Cooper Flagg, along with four other five-stars.

Michigan State finishes off this recruiting cycle ranked 15th in the nation with three high school players committed and signed to the program.
Here’s where they all ended up.
Jase Richardson, CG (No. 34 nationally)
The son of Michigan State basketball legend Jason Richardson is a combo guard out of Miami, Fla. The 6-3, 180-pound southpaw moved down one spot in the final rankings update. Tom Izzo is ecstatic to add the two-way player of NBA pedigree.
Kur Teng, SG (No. 54 nationally)
The fanbase has been super excited to have Kur Teng on the roster ever since he stepped foot on campus for a visit. The No. 1 player in Massachusetts brings a legit jumper and will make an immediate impact for the Spartans next year. Teng moves down five spots in the most recent update.
Jesse McCulloch, PF/C (No. 133 nationally)
Although Jesse McCulloch has seen his 247Sports ranking fall over the course of the last few updates, there is a ton of upside here that fans should be excited about. Finishing as a three-star recruit in this class, McCulloch is a long power forward at 6-foot-9, weighing only 190 pounds, but he has a ton of room to add size to his frame which he’ll need when playing in the Big Ten. I expect him to make major strides in a college strength and conditioning program.
How do we feel about MSU’s 2024 class?
All three members of the class are guys the fans should be excited about. Is it as flashy as the 2023 class? Not quite. But Izzo locked down guys he felt were a fit for his program.
There is only one concern here and it has been the hottest topic surrounding the program since the season ended. What will Izzo do about the center position? Since there is no Big Ten-ready center in this recruiting class and Izzo doesn’t seem interested in leveraging the portal for one, MSU needs current players to make big strides this offseason. I’m looking at you, Carson Cooper, Jaxon Kohler, and Xavier Booker (if needed).
It’ll will be great having the new class on campus soon. Izzo needs that second national title and this class could be a part of the team that gets it for him.
