Michigan State football has a big recruiting weekend coming up, headlined by four top-100 prospects. Time to lock in.
Michigan State football recruiting is starting to heat up.
This past week held a lot of welcomed news for Spartan fans. The program gained two class of 2024 commitments from Reggie Powers III and Camren Campbell. With their new additions, the Spartans currently have five total commits for their 2024 class. This number is lower than what many fans expected for this point in the process but by all accounts, the team is gaining momentum and should continue to fill spots in the near future.
As the Spartans enter the final official visit weekend, the team hosts a star-studded lineup.
In fact, 247Sports currently projects eight confirmed visits for this upcoming weekend with the possibility of more late additions. According to Rivals, four of the players confirmed for this weekend are ranked as top-100 players nationally
5-star DL David Stone (No. 10 nationally)
Five-star defensive line prospect David Stone has been connected to the Spartans since last year. He’s made multiple visits to East Lansing and remains engaged with Spartan fans on social media. Stone has recently been connected to Oklahoma and Oregon.
4-star WR Nick Marsh (No. 54 nationally)
Four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh initially committed to the Spartans in July 2022. Marsh would eventually go on to rescind his commitment to reopen his recruiting process. He has remained in contact with the staff at Michigan State in spite of reopening his recruitment. Penn State has been one of the primary programs pursuing Marsh since he reopened. He recently took an official visit to Happy Valley but decided to give the Spartans the final pitch this weekend.
4-star OL Deandre Carter (No. 79 nationally)
Carter is a four-star interior offensive lineman from California. Previously peaking as high as No. 57 nationally for Rivals, Carter is largely considered one of the top interior lineman in the 2024 class. He is also scheduled to visit Auburn on June 16 and Texas on Sept. 30
4-star RB Jason Brown (No. 90 nationally)
The four-star running back Jason Brown has a rating that fluctuates a little depending on the source but Rivals composite rating has him as the No. 90 prospect in the country and the No. 8 rusher in the country. Oregon, Washington, and USC are the three other schools primarily connected to Brown.
These are just four of the names visiting East Lansing this weekend. Fans will certainly be glued to their phones for the next week hoping for some more good news.
