Tunmise Adeleye quickly realizing strength of Michigan State fans

Tunmise Adeleye was at the airport on Thursday and was peppered with ‘go green’ left and right.

One of the newest Spartan football players, Tunmise Adeleye, is quickly realizing just how strong and extensive the Michigan State fanbase is.

Do you know the feeling of walking somewhere in public with a Michigan State shirt or hat on and getting a “go green” yelled at you by a complete stranger? It’s exhilarating to hear and you (hopefully) respond back with a resounding ‘go white.’

It’s the Michigan State fan battle cry.

But it’s everywhere.

If you’ve been on vacation to Chicago or New York or even on a cruise, you’ve undoubtedly heard ‘go green’ shouted your way multiple times. It’s a beautiful thing.

And now, Adeleye is realizing just how great it is.

The O’Hare Airport in Chicago is prime ‘go green’ territory and Tunmise Adeleye found that out on Thursday afternoon. You love to see it.

It wouldn’t even surprise me if Adeleye wasn’t wearing Michigan State gear and Spartan fans just recognized him because, well, we’re crazy like that. He had to feel like he made the right choice based on all the love he received from Michigan State fans at an airport. Now just imagine how much more love he’ll get when he’s sacking quarterbacks regularly this season.

The Texas A&M transfer was one of the most prized recruits in the transfer portal this offseason before picking Michigan State because of a relationship with Brandon Jordan. He stuck around despite Jordan leaving for the NFL and Marco Coleman going back to Georgia Tech and he recently accepted the challenge of putting the team on the defense’s back next year.

Adeleye is going to be a fan favorite for at least a couple of years and he’s going to continue feeling the love.

If running into Michigan State fans wherever you go isn’t a selling point to recruits as a national brand, I don’t know what is.
