Aidan Chiles will be Nick Marsh’s “first contact” for MSU’s QB

Aidan Chiles is one of the best young quarterbacks in the country and Nick Marsh is well aware of that, making him a priority.

The Jonathan Smith era is underway and he’s already making moves to improve the roster. But he’s getting some help from some of his players and even a 2024 recruit. That’s right, Nick Marsh is doing some recruiting of his own and Aidan Chiles is his target.

During an appearance on the This is Sparta podcast with Jehuu Caulcrick and Jason Strayhorn, Marsh spoke about Chiles and his desire to play with him.

He told Strayhorn and Caulcrick that Chiles would be his “first contact” when looking to get a quarterback to join him.

It’s pretty cool to hear that Marsh is very well aware of the impact that Chiles would have on the program. He’s clearly working hard to get him to East Lansing and if you’re Chiles, it would be tough to say no to a familiar playbook and coach to go along with an elite receiver like Marsh at a major program like Michigan State. He could take the reins right away and be the QB1 as a true sophomore.

Nick isn’t the only one working on Chiles, though. It seems like his mom is also putting in some recruiting work, too.

The Spartans are without a scholarship quarterback on the roster following the transfers of Katin Houser, Sam Leavitt, and Noah Kim as well as the decommitment of Henry Hasselbeck. This has the staff looking for a new QB1.

The portal is going to provide Michigan State with a quarterback or two, and I think everyone agrees that Chiles would be the top option. And Marsh agrees. A Chiles-to-Marsh connection would be electric.

Let’s hope that Marsh can close the deal here and get Chiles to East Lansing.
