Another class of 2025 target has locked in an official visit with Jonathan Smith and Michigan State football.

Now I don’t know about everyone else, but on Tuesday as I walked outside to go pick up my son from school, I was taken aback by the weather. It’s February here in Michigan and my car thermometer read 75 degrees as I was leaving. With the first major taste of spring upon us, I couldn’t help myself with thinking Michigan State football season is inching closer. But with the warmer weather here and the NFL Combine starting this weekend, spring practices are just around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited.

The football team has been hard at work starting their winter and spring conditioning programs and as news has started to come out, the coaching staff also is hard at work. This time on the recruiting trail.

As I wrote last week, MSU Football recently set its first official visit for a class of 2025 recruit for this summer. On Tuesday, we received some more good news that another recruit has locked in a visit to East Lansing for June as well.

Connected 247Sports national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu reported that Orchard Lake St Mary’s product Charles White has locked in an official visit with Michigan State for the weekend of June 7.

The three-star linebacker is ranked as the 16th-best player from the State of Michigan on 247Sports. He stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 190 pounds. White holds a total of 14 offers currently. Some of those offers include MSU, Kansas, Indiana, Purdue, Penn State, Nebraska, Boston College, Rutgers, and Pittsburgh.

White also set two other officials for the summer besides Michigan State. He will be visiting Boston College on the weekend of May 31. Kansas is up after that on the weekend of June 14. Boston College was the first school to offer him back in November. Michigan State was the first Big Ten program to offer him, however. That came back in December. For what it’s worth, White has taken an unofficial visit to campus already. He has since been communicating quite a bit with new defensive coordinator Joe Rossi as the two have been building a nice rapport.

It’s nice to see Jonathan Smith getting some talented in state recruits to commit to official visits early on. He has made it known he plans to really attack the local talent pool and to build the program with Midwestern players. While it’s still early on, the first few visitors locking in definitely follow that mold. We should soon be hearing of other recruits from the state wanting to set their official visit schedule. We will update that as soon as we can.
