Cassius Winston noticeably left off of ChatGPT’s Top 25 point guards since 2000 list

A recent trend of having ChatGPT create Top 25 lists results in a Top 25 point guards list that is missing Cassius Winston.

With the emergence of ChatGPT and it’s impressive abilities, a number of best of lists have been circulating around the internet. Top 25 Football Programs – According to ChatGPT. Top 25 Student Sections – According to ChatGPT. The lists are endless, and often invite entertaining debates.

A few that have caught our eye are lists relating to top 25 position players since 2000. In particular, the Top 25 Point Guards in Men’s CBB Since 2000 – According to ChatGPT, that has one player in particular missing: Cassius Winston.

When Cassius came to Michigan State as a four star by way of Detroit Jesuit High School, it took some time for him to acclimate to the college basketball world. Once he did, however, Cassius played himself into elite company. He had the unteachable attributes: heart, leadership and toughness. But he also developed the skill and ability that lead MSU to being national title favorites just before the tournament was cancelled because of COVID-19.

During this final season, Winston averaged 18.6 points, 5.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and shot a scorching 43 percent from deep.

Numbers aside, the eye test told you Cassius Winston is a top three point guard in MSU history; Possibly the best point guard since Magic Johnson back in 1979.

Cassius blew the roof off the Breslin with a dagger 3-pointer more times than I can remember anyone doing in recent history. To be left off the list of top point guards since 2000 is simply absurd. The all-time Big Ten leader in assists, NCAA All-Region team, two-time consensus All-American, two-time All-Big Ten selection, Big Ten Tournament MVP, and Big Ten Player of the Year deserves some respect from ChatGPT.

Obviously ChatGPT is just a tool, albeit an extremely intelligent one. There is no reason to take offense from the lack of MSU players on their top 25 lists. MSU had appearances from Draymond Green and Jaren Jackson Jr. on other, similar lists, but were mostly absent. Spartan fans know the true top positional players since 2000, many of which have gone through East Lansing.

Other notable Big Ten point guards who made the list over Winston according to ChatGPT are Trey Burke, Dee Brown, D’Angelo Russell, and Aaron Craft.
