Just this past winter, Michigan State point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. was shot in the leg. And now he looks healthier than ever.

Five months ago, the unthinkable happened to freshman point guard Jeremy Fears Jr.

While at a friend’s house in his hometown, he was struck in the leg by a gunshot and so was one other person. Despite getting shot in the leg, he put himself second to make sure the other shooting victim was OK. He truly became a hero in probably the most frightening time in his life and he probably had no idea what kind of road to recovery he was facing.

Fears never thought his freshman season would be cut short before the new year.

Five months and countless positive recovery updates later, Fears is looking like himself again. Heck, he’s actually looking better, healthier, and stronger than ever. He shared a video on Wednesday that shows just how good he looks.

“The Floor General” participated in what looks like an open gym and not only did he have his mobility back, but it looked like his confidence was through the roof as he was dominating defenders. His handles were impressive, his shooting was sharp, and his passes were smart and on point. Oh, and his frame looks even stronger than when he came to East Lansing last summer.

The second-year point guard from Illinois was shooting with confidence, even pulling up and launching threes with defenders in his face. If he can add that to his game this season, Michigan State fans are going to fall in love and the Big Ten will be in trouble.

We already know Fears can drive, he can pass, and he can finish at the rim, but if he adds a consistent long-range shot, watch out.

Who else can’t wait to see what this dude can do as the starter next year?
