Star Michigan State football sophomore Jordan Hall believes that the Spartans have the best linebacker room in the nation.
Confidence is one of the best attributes you can have as a young athlete. It’s even better when everyone else doubts you and your confidence helps you rise up and exceed expectations. Michigan State football players are quickly realizing that confidence is key.
Last week, Aidan Chiles said that he believed that he needed to prove he was the best quarterback in the Big Ten like some people expect him to be and this week, it’s Jordan Hall exuding confidence.
Hall was one of the bright young stars on the 4-8 team last season and he is considered a major building block for the program. He opted not to transfer despite the fact that he would’ve drawn a ton of interest in the portal and his leadership qualities are obvious. On Monday, he spoke to the media after practice about the upcoming season and had some interesting things to say.
The quote that stood out the most? Well, that one was easy.
Our own Emmett Matasovsky quoted Hall saying, “I think we have the best linebacker room in the country.”
And honestly, that’s not a hot take. While it’s a bold statement, it’s something that could be argued given the fact that linebacker is the strongest position group on the team heading into 2024. Michigan State has a group of guys that could compete with anyone in the Big Ten and the country. From Hall to Jordan Turner to Wayne Matthews III to Cal Haladay to Darius Snow, the Spartans have a loaded linebacker room.
On top of those veterans and upperclass newcomers, Michigan State added some young talent from the 2024 class and the portal at the linebacker position like Semaj Bridgeman, Marcellius Pulliam, and Brady Pretzlaff. This room is loaded for the foreseeable future.
Does Michigan State have the best linebacker room in the country? The most talented linebacker on the team says yes.
